Our journey began around 1984, organizing Sri Durga Puja, along with Sri Laxmi, Sri Kali, and Sri Saraswati Mata Puja, in various community halls such as Palki Hall and Scout Hall. Since 2012, we have found our cherished home at the Hindi Prachar Bhavan in Lalbagh. Now, in 2025, we proudly celebrate 42 years of these sacred traditions. At its core, our puja is a form of worship to God and Goddess, bringing everyone together with one heart.
Here, "we" means not only the "Bengali Samaj" but also the participation from all communities of people with the same mind and thinking. This is why we call it SARBOJANIN PUJA—a puja for all people. Today, we can proudly say, "Our Puja is literally SARBOJANIN PUJA."
All people, irrespective of caste and creed, have the right to participate in our puja freely and open-heartedly, feeling like it is their own, while only respecting the discipline of the Puja Committee.
Apart from performing all the pujas, we also host cultural programs like dance, drama, and a drawing competition for all school children, all while maintaining a classic standard. We also perform social activities like ANNA DAN for all communities during the festival and honor the social workers who do their work behind the curtain.
At the end of the day, we return home with the full blessing of God, great peace of mind, the memory of meeting with all people, their smiling faces, and the feeling of bonding as one family. Finally, we begin counting the days until the next puja to meet again.
Finally, thanks to the People of Mangaluru and the administration. Without their kind support, we would not be able to perform such a puja festival. Thank you.
